Wax cast brass, this buttcap is appropriate for American flint pistols of the 1780-1810 era. The tang has been left square, but can be rounded or shortened depending on the style of pistol you are making. Normally retained by an iron wood screw installed from below, we recommend using our Screw-10x1-1/2. Inletting this buttcap will be easier after you file finish the inside edge, and realize only this edge contacts the wood. The cap is hollow underneath.
1-41/64" wide, by 1-57/64" long, by 2-1/4" tall.
