This cartridge box would be ideal for a American impression using a French Charlieville musket. This "Lafayette's" cartridge box is a French 1767 design. The cartridge box is made from heavy black leather, with a pigs tail holding the flap down. A additional pocket is located beneath the main flap. About 9" wide, 6" tall, and 3" deep. The rear has a cross strap, and the bottom has two iron buckles mounted to secure a shoulder strap. Inside is a tinned tray, and wood bock with 3/4" holes for six cartridges and two cavities for spare cartridges.

A small pouch with tie is located on the front of the box, under the main flap. A tinned tray and wood block are found inside this nice black leather cartridge box. The wood block is drilled with six 3/4" diameter holes, .75 caliber, for paper cartridges on each side. Two larger cavities are drilled for spare paper cartridges.
