Federal law limits possession to 50 pounds, in any one household. Most state, county, and city ordinances and fire codes comply with Federal law.

We ship black powder by UPS ground, to 48 states. Club Officers may distribute powder to members and guests. Heads of families may distribute powder to family members and friends. You may not engage in the business of stocking and reselling black powder, unless you have a Federal Explosives License, available from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms. They require a license, simple record keeping, an approved storage box (inexpensive Type 4 indoor magazine), and annual inspections. Certain areas require commercial zoning.

Dealers please send a signed copy of your Federal Explosives License (FEL - not FFL). We must have your current copy on file, before shipment, if you purchase it for resale.

GOEX brand American made black powder is our most popular brand, by far. Made in sporting grades Fg, FFg, FFFg, FFFFg, Cartridge, Cannon, Cowboy and Express grades. The Cowboy powder has been created and granularly formulated specifically for Cowboy Action Shooters. This new powder is designed for use in metallic cartridges (40 grains or less) and in shotgun shells. "Cowboy" will be packaged and shipped the same as other current GOEX products. The new Express powder is designed specifically for black powder cartridge shooters.

SWISS brand Swiss made black powder is gaining popularity, despite the price, especially with black powder cartridge shooter. Imported in sporting grades Fg, FFg, FFFg, and the intermediate F-1/2g granulation for Sharps rifles.
